
Marc Panton
Dr. Marc Panton served as the Chief Technical Director in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for four years, where, in addition to assisting with the overall management of the Ministry, he directed the operations of several technical divisions including the Veterinary Services, Plant Quarantine, Research and Development, Project Management, Rural Physical Planning and Public Gardens divisions.
Marc has been a Managing Director of several agricultural, development, and real estate organizations including Barkeith Limited, Butterfly Dreams Farm, Colmar Developments, Cashoo Ostrich Park, and Friendship Farms. He has also served as a Director and Member of several agricultural and related organizations including the Jamaica Bureau of Standards, Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA), Jamaica Greenhouse Growers Association, Fisheries Management and Development Fund, Beef and Dairy Producers Association, National Commission on Science and Technology and Jamaica Veterinary Medical Association.
He also served as Chairman of significant agriculture development projects including the Hounslow Redevelopment Project, Financial Access for Responsible Members (FARM) Program, EC Food Facility Project and the Irish Potato Development Project. He has also been a Director on a number of School Boards such as the College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE), the All American Institute of Medical Sciences (AAIMS) and Chairman of the Lewisville High School.
Marc holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Animal Science from Cornell University (1991), and a Master of Business Administration degree (M.B.A) from the Northern Caribbean University (2003), as well as a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) from the University of Florida (1995).
